About the party

The Festa de la Mar is an event that is organized annually to spread the heritage and seafaring traditions of the Mediterranean, with the aim of preserving its legacy and with the perspective of taking it into the future.

This year, this VI edition will take place on the seafront of Calafell and the Ports of Segur and Coma-ruga, from June 8 to 11  and will host more than a hundred traditional sailing boats and numerous activities aimed at all audiences: a dozen shows, activities for children, temporary exhibitions, food fair, music festival, etc.

The Catalan Federation for Maritime and River Culture and Heritage (FCCPMF) was founded in 2015 and is made up of 17 associations spread throughout the Catalan coast that share the following objectives:

  • The protection, conservation and dissemination of Catalan maritime and fluvial heritage.​​
  • The recovery and restoration of traditional boats that are on the way to disappearing.​
  • The practice and dissemination of traditional navigation techniques.​
  • The promotion of sustainable and respectful practices with the marine environment.
